This infusion of flavours embodies the typical tastes of Cajun and Creole cuisine, which originate from Louisiana, USA.
The Cayenne pepper and paprika pack some serious heat, so adjust amount according to your tastes. These spices compliment dishes such as burritos, fajitas and tacos wonderfully.
We recommend sprinkling this onto potato wedges before baking. It also makes a perfect marinade for chicken if mixed with oil and lemon juice!

3 teaspoons Garlic Salt
Organic Paprika 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)
2 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
Organic Black Pepper Powder 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 teaspoon Coarse Cracked Black Pepper
Onion Powder 200g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
Cayenne Pepper Powder 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Organic Oregano Leaves 30g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 teaspoon oregano
Organic Thyme Leaves 50g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 teaspoon Thyme
Method
- Combine all the ingredients and using a pestle and mortar crush gently until the herbs are mixed together.
- Store in an airtight container to ensure maximum freshness!
- If you do not have a pestle and mortar, this blend can be made by placing all ingredients in a jar and shaking until adequately mixed.
