Oat and Cashew Butter Power Smoothie
- Easy-to-digest and very satisfying.
- Mellow, pudding-like flavours and consistency.
- Gluten-free and dairy-free if you switch for a soya or coconut-based yoghurt.
- Makes enough for one, thick smoothie.
Cashew Nut Butter 170g (Meridian)
1 heaped tsp Cashew butter
Organic Porridge Oats (1kg) - Sussex WholeFoods
2 heaped Tbsp Gluten-free Oats
Organic Unblanched Almonds (500g) - Sussex WholeFoods
Small handful(16) unblanched Almonds
Manuka Honey Active 5+ 250 g (Littleover Apiaries)
1 tsp Manuka honey
Ginger Powder 100g (Hampshire Foods)
¼ tsp Ginger powder
Other Ingredients
- 1 small pear, skin left on
- ½ an apple, skin left on
- 2 heaped Tbsp organic full fat yoghurt
- ½ zest of a lemon & a squeeze of lemon juice
Method
- In a power blender roughly chop the pear and apple. Ensure that any pips have been removed first.
- Add the almonds and blitz for 10-15 seconds.
- Now add the remaining ingredients and blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. You should have a fairly thick consistency that can just about be poured into a glass and will need a little help from a spoon.
- Garnish with a slice of lemon, especially if you are making for someone else, and enjoy straight away!
