- Bronze edible spray paint.
- Gold edible spray paint.
- Large gold pearl dragee/ sugar balls.
- Small gold dragee/sugar balls.
- Christmas tree decoration – gold glitter snowflake.
- x3 Rainbow Dust Cake Glitter Colours – Light Copper, Penny Copper and Dark Gold.
- x10-12 Yellow LED Waterproof lights.
- x1 12″ round gold cake board
- Bamboo Cake Rods/dowels.
Method
- Bake all 3 cakes. Keep well wrapped. Douse with your chose alcohol (optional) a day or so before covering with marzipan.
- Make your chosen marzipan(s). Coat the sides of each cake with a little coconut or date syrup to help the marzipan to stick.
- Measure the sides of the cake, roll out the marzipan, measure and cut to size.
- Attach the marzipan and smooth with a mini rolling pin.
- If making a tiered cake, cut bamboo dowels to the depth of the cake (we used a wooden skewer to measure the depth of each cake once baked). Insert between 5-6 dowels in a circle in the centre of each cake. This will help to support each tier.
- Spray with your chosen colours and cut details with cookie cutters.
- Decide where you want to display your cake and put your cake board in place. Tiered cakes can be very heavy and difficult to move once assembled. Prepare your table with your chosen table cloth and/or decorations.
- Assemble each tier using a cake lifter, pizza paddle or large palette knife.
- Add further details and touch up any places where the marzipan has become damaged. Add any other decorations edible or not as you wish. Hey presto! Your mega-cake is ready.
