Three Seed Soda Bread Rolls
Soda bread rolls with oats, seeds and stout. Perfect for savoury snacking.
This recipe can be modified by adding paprika, cumin or thyme.
Strong Wholemeal Bread Flour, Organic 1kg (Marriages)
150g wholemeal flour
Oatmeal - Organic Fine Oatmeal 500g (Infinity Foods)
50g fine oatmeal
Rolled Oatflakes, Organic 1kg (Infinity Foods)
50g porridge oats
Organic 3 Seed Mix 250g (Infinity Foods)
2 heaped dessert spoons of Three Seed Mix
Barley Malt Extract 370g (Meridian)
2 tbsp barley malt extract
Peanut Oil [aka: Groundnut Oil], Organic (Bio Planete) 250ml
2 tbsp peanut oil
Bicarbonate of Soda 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp salt
Organic Sun Dried Tomatoes 1kg (Sussex Wholefoods)
A few, chopped (optional)
Other Ingredients
165ml stout
140ml buttermilk
Method
1) In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients together, sifting the flour.
2) In a measuring jug, mix together your stout and buttermilk and pour into the flour mixture.
3) Add 2 table spoons of oil and barley malt and mix the whole lot together into a wet dough.
4) Roll into balls using your palms and sit on a tray. Decorate with a sprinkling of oats. Bake in the oven for about 12 minutes at 220°C. If you have a fan assisted oven, 8 minutes should be enough time.
