This version of the classic mincemeat is lower in sugar than many supermarket versions. It is a simple recipe without additives and without animal or vegetable suet.

Mincemeat should be about enjoying the nicely spiced fruits and their flavour should not be obliterated by unnecessary sugar. Most mince pies or tray bakes can be very successfully made without the need for extra fat in the mincemeat too. Give this a go for a different sort of mince pie experience this Christmas!

And the good news is you can also stir a spoonful into winter porridge or add a few heaped tablespoons to the base of a steamed pudding. Try stuffing a lovely Bramely or Russet apple with a few teaspoons for a warming, low fat Autumn pud.

Ingredients

Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Sultanas, Organic Molasses, Organic Apple, Organic Raisins, Organic Orange, Organic Sunflower Oil, Maize Starch, Organic Mixed Spice, Organic Lemon, Citric Acid.

Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 3 weeks.
