The aronia berry (also known as the Appleberry or the Chokeberry) is very similar to bilberries. The aronia berry tastes mildly sweet yet sour at first, then as you continue to chew the flavour becomes quite tart. If you enjoy sour fruits (such as blackberries), these aronia berries are for you!
Using Aronia Berries
Due to their strong flavour, we recommend aronias be used to contrast sweet meals such as a sweet, honey muesli, with yoghurt and mixed berries, in a berry coulis. Alternatively, why not stew with spiced beef, duck or venison.
