Much like chia seeds themselves, this flour is naturally very low in carbohydrates. This makes it the perfect option for anyone following a keto or paleo diet, or just for those that want to keep an eye on their carbohydrate intake.
Chia seed flour is typically used as a full, or partial, substitution for wheat flour in recipes. The guideline of ratios for this are as follows -
- Total substitution: Chia flour:Wheat flour, 1:1
- Partial substitution: Typically 1:3
To use this product as a vegan egg alternative/replacement powder, add 1 tablespoon to 3 tablespoons of water. Stir well and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, allowing it to gel together. Your chia seed flour egg will then be ready for your recipe!
