This pure banana powder is made from the
Musa acuminata variety which have a distinctive deep red skin and are larger than the more familiar yellow-skinned bananas we see in the shops.
The flesh inside the skin is cream-coloured with a faint pink hint and they have a soft texture with a distinctive sweet banana taste.
The powder is made from fresh, ripe organic bananas that are made into a paste and drum-dried slowly. The resulting flakes are then ground down into a fine powder. Prepared in this manner it retains many of its nutrients.
This pure banana ingredient has a rich sweetness as you first taste it with a light raspberry-like flavour and tartness towards the end. Red banana powder offers a full-bodied banana flavour that can add a richer more interesting banana-ness to your drinks, desserts and no-cook bakes and cakes!
