These freeze dried peas are easy to use when sprinkled in to soups and stews or simply re-hydrated in water and added to rice or pasta dishes. When rehydrated in water, they become soft, plump and ready for cooking.
Freeze dried peas, much like our freeze dried fruit has had its water removed yet they still retain much of their nutritional goodness. The great thing about this is that you gain more peas for their weight, since they are so light.
Directions
These green peas simply need rehydrating in hot water. Either add straight into boiling water and cook for a couple of minutes or add straight to soups, broths and casseroles. In the photo above, we soaked the peas in boiling water for 15 minutes, after which they were soft and ready to eat while still retaining their firm round shape - This makes them perfect for healthy camping food.
