These chewy berries are known by many names including the Cape Gooseberry, Inca Berry and Physalis, and come from South America. Their sweet-tart, citrus taste makes them a delicious and uniquely flavoured fruit.
Physalis or Golden Berries sit well alongside other fruits and can be added to fresh fruit salads as well as exotic trail mix. Cover with dark chocolate or stir into chocolate mixed with pieces of crystallised ginger for a sensational treat. Experiment by chopping and adding to rice, pasta and meat dishes.
