Pure loose black tea from Ceylona is grown over 2000 metres above sea level in the central region of Sri Lanka. This high elevation produces a tea leaf which is rich, full of flavour and a golden colour. This Ceylon Loose Tea stays true to the traditions and flavours of this famous tea country.
Orthodox is the traditional method of processing black tea. The harvested leaves are left to completely oxidize, then are passed through a heavy cylindrical rotor vane. This tea is also sometimes called Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP). This is where the full leaves are separated and the end buds and first leaves of each shoot is used to create a tea with a unique flavour.
Flavour & Colour
This black tea makes a smooth and aromatic cup of tea. It has a delicate flowery, mildly citrus flavour with a richness that only black tea can offer. The colour is a bright golden brown and makes a superb brew first thing in the morning.
Directions:
This tea is best used in a tea pot, though will work very well inside an infuser. All you need is one teaspoon of dry tea per person.
Boil some water and add the tea to the hot water. Leave it to infuse for 3-4 minutes. Serve as you would normal tea. This can be enjoyed with or without milk, or even with a lemon slice - it's your choice.
