They're known for their potential health benefits, including promoting heart health and supporting digestion, which makes these dried flowers a wholesome addition to your daily routine.
From brewing a refreshing hibiscus tea to infusing your favourite cocktails, our dried hibiscus flowers elevate your culinary experience. Experiment with their versatility by incorporating them into jams, sauces, salads, and desserts for a touch of floral sophistication.
Hibiscus flowers are not just a treat for the taste buds! They can also enhance the visual appeal of your creations - their deep crimson hue adds a pop of colour to beverages, dishes, and desserts, making them a favourite among chefs and home cooks alike. Directions
- Start by measuring one tablespoon of dried hibiscus flowers for every cup of water. Adjust the quantity based on your personal preference for a stronger or milder brew.
- Heat one cup of water in a kettle or saucepan until it comes to a boil. If you're making multiple servings, adjust the water quantity accordingly.
- Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers to the hot water. Stir the flowers gently to ensure even saturation.
- Cover the container with a lid or a heatproof plate and let the hibiscus flowers steep in the hot water. Allow the infusion to steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Steeping longer will result in a stronger flavour.
- After the steeping time is complete, strain the tea to remove the hibiscus flowers. You can use a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. The vibrant liquid left behind is your hibiscus tea.
- If desired, add sweetener to taste. Honey, agave, or sugar works well, but feel free to experiment with different sweeteners. For an extra burst of flavour, add a slice of citrus such as orange or lemon.
- Pour the hibiscus tea into your favourite mug or teacup. The vivid red colour and refreshing taste make it a delightful beverage on its own, but you can also enjoy it over ice for a cooling effect.
Feel free to get creative with your hibiscus tea by experimenting with additional ingredients like mint, ginger, or other herbal infusions. Adjust the strength and sweetness to suit your preferences, and relish the wonderful experience of sipping on this floral and invigorating brew. Dried hibiscus blossoms.
