Basmati rice is a popular rice in India and Pakistan. This is easy to cook, taking about 20-25 minutes until ready.
Being brown, this Basmati rice is higher in fibre than white Basmati and has a fuller, more nutty flavour. When perfectly cooked, Basmati rice should be fluffy yet still hold its shape - no stodgy rice here!
Measure some rice into your pan. A cupfull is a good rough measurement - this will be enough for two people (when dry it always looks less).
Put the rice into a pan and add some water, clearing the rice by about 3cm. Bring it to the boil and then simmer. The rice will be cooked in about 20 minutes.
