Chia seeds offer support for a variety of diets. They are ideal for people wanting to add more fibre to their food as well as vegetarians and vegans seeking a source of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's).
They work best when either pre-soaked or added to a drink or liquid. They work in a similar fashion to linseed (flaxseeds) when soaked forming a gel like coating which helps as a digestive. Research is continuing into the various benefits of consuming Chia Seed, such as energy release, as an anti-inflammatory, etc. Chia seeds are still relatively new to the European diet, but have been consumed in South America for centuries.
Organic Chia Seeds (Salvia Hispanica).
