Strawberries first grew wild in the Alps, where the Romans named them ‘fragrans' after their intense fragrance, though nowadays they are grown in the warm climate of Basilicata e Campania. Fresh strawberries boast so many nutritional virtues: highly antioxidant with more vitamin C than citrus fruits (just 5 strawberries match an orange), also high in potassium, folate (vitamin B9) and manganese.
