Directions

• Cloves are added to curries and other Indian dishes. Simply add about 2-3 cloves per person into the pan whilst cooking. For best results, crush the cloves before adding them.
• Typically, add a few whole cloves to the pot when cooking rice. They release their flavours into the rice and give it a nice spicy aroma.
• Make a pomander out of cloves and oranges, to act as a scented room freshener. Simply push the cloves into the orange (about 20 will do).
• Cloves have antiseptic and pain-relieving properties, and are useful for chewing when you have toothache.
• Cloves, as with many spices, help to settle the stomach.
