These soya beans can be used in almost any recipe that requires beans including curries, salads, casseroles, chilli and pasta dishes. Soya beans are a versatile ingredient and can also be used to make soya milk, tofu and much more!
Directions
- General cooking instructions: Simmer for 3 hours in boiling water until soft.
- To reduce cooking time: Pre-soaking the beans overnight will reduce the cooking time by an hour.
- Pressure cooking: Use of a pressure cooker will reduce the cooking time to around half an hour.
- To make soya milk: Soak for at least 10 hours before liquidising into a paste using a blender (using 10 cups of water to every cup of soya beans). Optionally, cook the mixture in a pan for 30 minutes. Strain through a cheesecloth and add sugar to taste.
