Black Turtle Beans are a good source of protein, fibre and minerals such as iron, potassium, selenium, molybdenum, thiamine, vitamin B6, and folic acid.
They are shiny and black in colour and have a light brown creamy flesh that has a sweet nutty flavour with similarities to mushroom. They cook in around 60-90 minutes (far quicker in a pressure cooker).
