These porridge oats are wholegrain oats that have been thinly flattened. The flakes are smaller and thinner than jumbo oats and hence cook a bit quicker. That makes them ideal for porridge as they cook quickly and produce a soft, smooth breakfast.
Our porridge oats are completely pure. They contain no salt or sugar - no additives at all. So you can be rest assured that you know exactly what you are adding to your oat mix.
These oats are typically made to produce porridge. There are many ways to make porridge. The most typical method is to place a cupful of these oats in a pan, together with a mixture of milk and water. Bring to the boil and simmer for around 10 minutes according to taste. Add raisins and/or honey to taste.
You can also make porridge in a microwave by placing the oats, milk and some boiling water in a microwavable bowl and cooking for around 3 minutes.
You can also use these oats as a base for making your own muesli, or even just as a breakfast cereal on its own.
