Thyme is a popular herb that is used in various cuisines all around the world and is very much an 'everyday item' that many of us use in our cooking at home. It is traditionally used in French cuisine, but with its popularity it appears in almost every type of cuisine. It's flavour is incredibly versatile, as it works well alone but is also fantastic when combined with other herbs and spices to create a harmonious flavour.
Our dried thyme leaves are a great option for plenty of vegan and non-vegan recipes. It's great to add to potatoes, vegetables, meats and meat alternatives, as well as adding into soups, stews, casseroles, pasta dishes and plenty more! Thyme typically has a sharp, almost minty flavour. Though it has earthy tones to it's taste as well, and is a little bit sweet and a little bit peppery. The overall flavour is relatively mild, which allows it to blend very well with other herbs.
