Hemp seeds are a great way to add omega oils (essential fatty acids) and protein (essential amino acids) into the diet. These are important for our muscle, blood, joints, brain health and skin health. We cannot produce these in our bodies therefore need to eat foods that contain them.
Hemp seeds are particularly excellent for those who choose not to eat meat, fish or dairy, as these foods contain many of the essential omega oils we need.
Hemp seeds have a nutty flavour. They accompany breads, rolls, salads and muesli well, and taste good on their own as a little mid-afternoon snack.
